Sara Al Saadi leads the regulatory oversight activities for the UAE Nuclear Power Plant in UAE, to ensure the safe and secure use of Nuclear Material and Nuclear Facilities. Sara started her carrier at FANR in early 2010, where in the last 12 years she served the UAE Nuclear Project from the early stages of its start-up with the site selection to the construction licence of the first nuclear power plant in UAE and continuing through the operations of Barakah NPP units. Sara holds a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Khalifa University with minor in Nuclear Security. Sara is the UAE point of contact for the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and its Amendment at the International Atomic Energy Agency. She has authored a number of publications in the area the area of structural integrity of nuclear materials and contributed in different international forums and conferences representing nuclear safety and security.
