Hesham Al-Sulaimani currently working at KAUST since 2010 as Director of Utilities - Facilities Management. He is a Professional Mechanical Engineer with over 27 years of experience in facilities management, design and construction, sustainability, capital planning and safety & environmental compliance.

Before joining KAUST, Hesham was the Director of Engineering and Projects at a leading FMCG company in Saudi and Egypt. During his stay in this role, he managed to secure $130M from Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) as to fund the intended design and build a new facility with latest production equipment, the industrial complex was designs and built under his direct supervision in accordance to HACCP requirement.

His wealthy experience in global companies over different continents sharing technologies and knowledge within FMCG sectors in accordance to global and specialized quality systems enabled him to be awarded with a global innovation and creativity award. His recent work on environmental preservation revealed on improving the reuse of recycling waste to 100% within KAUST.
