Shashi Prakash is currently the Head of Regulation, Policy and Certification at Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company. He joined Masdar in June 2021 as Sustainability & Carbon Expert after previously holding similar position in Supreme committee for delivery and legacy for delivery of FIFA World Cup 2022 since 2014.

Mr Prakash has over 19 years’ experience in advising, managing and structuring various climate change and carbon market projects. He is responsible for Masdar’s carbon business. He was part of the first green building emission reduction methodology development and first carbon project registration from the UAE. He is executive committee member of UAE carbon alliance and has worked with UNFCCC for various carbon standards development, including establishing carbon capture and storage working group.

Mr Prakash is chemical engineer with Master’s in Energy Management. He is a certified project management (PMP) and LEED accredited professional (LEED AP).
