Dr. Yacine Addad is an esteemed expert in the field of nuclear Thermal Hydraulics (T-H) analysis and holds a leadership position at the Emirates Nuclear Technology Center (ENTC) Theme-1 research team. He also serves as the Deputy Director of this co-sponsored center, which is a collaboration between Khalifa University (KU), Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), and Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR). The primary focus of Theme-1 is to evaluate the capabilities of thermal hydraulic safety analysis codes in accurately reproducing significant T-H phenomena that arise in nuclear power plants during hypothetical accident scenarios, including rare occurrences.
In addition to his responsibilities at ENTC, Dr. Addad actively engages in numerous collaborative research programs, both within the United Arab Emirates and on an international scale. He has been successful in securing grants totaling over $8.5 million as a Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator (Co-I) from various funding bodies, including FANR, ENEC, ASPIRE, KU, and UK funding councils, to support research and development efforts in the field of nuclear technology
