Effective 30 December 2021, entering the emirate from within the UAE requires showing green status on Alhosn App for vaccinated people. Unvaccinated individuals are required to present a negative PCR test result received within 96 hours.
In addition to using EDE scanners to rapidly detect potential Covid-19 cases at entry points to the emirate, further enhancing precautionary measures and protect public health.
The procedure to enter Abu Dhabi emirate from abroad depends on your vaccination status and the destination from which you are arriving.

Before boarding, all travellers must show a negative PCR test result from within 48 hours of departure.
If you are fully vaccinated and arriving into Abu Dhabi emirate from a green list destination, you must take a PCR test on arrival and another PCR test on day 6, if staying in the emirate, without the need to quarantine.
If you are vaccinated and arriving from a destination not on the green list, you must take a PCR test on arrival, and additional PCR tests on day 4 and day 8, if staying in the emirate, without the need to quarantine.
Vaccinated status is applicable for citizens, residents and tourists who have received a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization.
If you are traveling from abroad and are not a citizen or resident of the UAE, you will need to download the UAE’s official COVID-19 app called Al Hosn.
You can download the Al Hosn app from the App Store, Google Play Store, Huawei AppGallery and the Galaxy Store free of charge. The app works on smartphones running Android and iOS.
Before departure to Abu Dhabi, register with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), via its website (ica.gov.ae) or its app. Complete the register arrivals form and attach your international vaccination documents. Once approved, you will receive an SMS including a link to download Alhosn app.
When you arrive in Abu Dhabi, you will receive a Unified Identification Number (UID) either at the airport or via the ICA website or app. You need to download Alhosn app and register using the UID and the same phone number used for ICA registration. Then you will receive a one-time password (OTP) to complete the Alhosn registration process.
On Alhosn app, you can check your status (green, grey or red), vaccination information, test results and travel test requirements, and use the live QR code.
