Mr Abdul Karim Sawan is a seasoned leader in AI, technology, and international business development, with a career spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey. His expertise lies in market expansion, strategic partnerships, and enabling organisations to leverage AI and big data analytics for energy solutions.
In 2024, he was appointed CEO of IntelliGrid, a joint venture between Esyasoft Holding and Presight AI, combining smart grid technology and AI-driven energy solutions. He leads the company’s global growth strategy, driving market expansion, partnerships, and client engagement. Under his leadership, IntelliGrid has rapidly positioned itself as a pioneer in AI-powered smart grids, enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and resilience in the energy sector.
Mr Sawan’s impressive career path also includes leadership roles in telecom, notably as Head of Mobile at Samsung Electronics (META), where he managed 11 regional offices and drove market growth and brand positioning. During his 12-year tenure at BlackBerry, he introduced BlackBerry solutions to MENA, launching with Etisalat and expanding to 40 operators. Additionally, he oversaw secure communications for US government agencies, including the Department of Defense and the FBI.
