Niko Cornelis is the Managing Director of Flexible Generation GCC at International Power SA, Dubai Branch. He also serves as a director for several entities, including Suez-Tractebel Operation and Maintenance Oman LLC (STOMO), Ruwais Power Company PJSC, M Power Holding Company Limited, Jubail O&M Company Ltd (JOMEL), and ENGIE Holding.
With a career spanning over two decades in the power generation sector, Mr. Cornelis has held various leadership roles within ENGIE. He joined the Group in 2003 as a Material Technology Specialist at Laborelec before advancing to Head of Cooperation Management and Business Development EMS, overseeing portfolio management of expertise missions and maintenance projects across Europe and the Middle East.
In 2017, he transitioned to the Middle East as Production Director for Hidd Power Company in Bahrain, later assuming the role of Executive Managing Director in 2019. In 2022, he was appointed Regional Vice President of Technical and Operational Support for ENGIE Flex Gen AMEA, based in Dubai, before stepping into his current position in mid-2023.
Mr. Cornelis holds an Engineering Degree from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, and an MBA from Vlerick Business School, Belgium.
