Sumant Sinha is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of ReNew, a preferred partner for decarbonisation solutions, listed on Nasdaq.

Sumant is a global entrepreneur and internationally recognised thought leader on energy and climate change issues. He set up ReNew in 2011 with a vision to accelerate the net zero energy transition in a just and inclusive manner. Under his leadership, ReNew has built a green portfolio of about 17.4 GW, and provides end-to-end solutions across the decarbonisation spectrum, including solar manufacturing, energy storage, carbon markets and green hydrogen—areas that are integral to addressing climate change.
As a passionate advocate for climate action, Sumant has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of entrepreneurship, clean energy, climate finance, and policy.

Sumant chairs the board of the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), a nonprofit advancing global energy transformation through market-driven solutions. He co-chairs the World Economic Forum’s Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, the largest CEO-led coalition on climate action. He also serves on the board of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and is a founding member of the First Movers Coalition, which focuses on decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries. From 2022 to 2023, he was president of the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and previously chaired CII’s Northern Region Council.
