Dr. Khalid Kaddoura, based in Abu Dhabi UAE, is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and GHD’s Team Lead in Pipeline Condition Assessment and Asset Management with close to 15 years of experience. He is the recipient of the 2024 CNAM’s Visionary and ASCE UESI Younger Member of Year awards. He holds a PhD focused on asset management and condition assessment from Concordia University. Dr. Kaddoura has managed and led numerous projects in North America, Australia, and the Middle East. His expertise includes data gap analysis, infrastructure evaluation, risk management, asset management strategies, lifecycle analysis, and financial modeling. Dr. Kaddoura is also well-versed in advanced applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Infrastructure, leading the development sewer condition assessment cloud-based solution, powered by AI. He possesses technical proficiency in selecting and implementing field condition assessment tools for both non-pressurized and pressurized linear systems. Dr. Kaddoura is knowledgeable in best practices, adhering to NACE, ISO, API, ASME, ASTM, AWWA M77, and ACI standards. His applied expertise extends to failure mode analysis of pressurized and non-pressurized pipeline materials, along with pipeline soil interaction and vulnerability assessment. Dr. Kaddoura employs outputs from condition assessment and vulnerability analysis to determine the state of constructed facilities.
As a researcher, he has authored and co-authored close to 50 technical journal and conference papers. Dr. Kaddoura's contributions extend to his various roles at the ASCE-UESI Pipelines conference as a Technical Co-Chair, Advisor to Technical Co-Chair and Track Chair, Associate Editor for the ASCE’s Journal of Structural Design and Construction Practice, Guest Editor for the ASCE Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice, and as a Project Advisory Committee (PAC) member for the Water Research Foundation (WRF).
