Christian started his journey at Bilfinger as CFO in Norway in 2016. Since 2018, he has had leadership roles in Bilfinger’s Middle East Region and is now the President of Engineering & Maintenance International since 2020, leading Bilfinger’s operations outside Europe. He is also a Member of the Group Executive Management of Bilfinger. With extensive experience in senior management across the US, Europe, and the Middle East, he specialises in strategic development, organisational transformation, and financial performance improvement.

Rugland has played a key role in bringing European expertise to the Middle East, implementing advanced engineering solutions and sustainability measures. His work includes projects in water desalination and renewable energy systems, aligning with regional carbon neutrality goals. By integrating lessons from European operations, he has strengthened Bilfinger’s position as a trusted partner for governments and industries in water, utilities, energy, and petrochemicals.
